Pahang U18 0 v Eton College 2

The final tour game was a convincing win and should have been more. Reverting back to the usual light blue kit the boys started solidly and broke quickly with Ali Lyons getting the first goal. Pahang played a high defensive line and were fortunate with some offside calls and poor Eton finishing. Pahang ended the half brightly but were kept at bay by excellent defence from Chambers and Morris. In the second half Pahang were kept to long range efforts but the score remained at 1-0 with an excellent save from Jasper Litchfield. Eton continued to gain chances on the break and finally doubled the lead with Johnny Marion headed goal at the far post from a Harry Miller-Sterling cross.

After the match we transferred back to KL on preparation for the flight home.

Pahang U17 1 v Eton AFC 2

In front of a crowd of about 2 thousand including the Sultan on Pahang, Eton played against the state side.  We were on the attack from the beginning and managed to take the lead from a well placed cross from Ali Lyon that found Ferdy Campbell at the far post to header home.  The college had a number of further chances in the first half but were unable to increase their lead.  Towards the end of the half Pahang were on the acendancy and equalised after the college didn't clear the box.  After the break and a few changes by Coach Jennings the boys managed to gain more control of the game and towards the end of the game Bertie Collins found space on the far left side to drive into the box and place his shot well pasted the Pahang keeper.
Today we will be having a light training session before the final tour game tomorrow.

Malaysia U17 1 vs Eton College 1

Second tour game at the Petaling Jaya stadium, saw a entertaining match with action at both ends.  In the first half Eton went close from Johnny Marion and a free kick from Henri Ashe-Taylor, but at half time it was still even with the Malaysian looking dangerous on the break.  A number of fresh faces on the pitch saw renewed energy levels and the deadlock was broken by a training ground move finished expertly by Bertie Collins.  Unfortunately the lead didn't last long with the Malaysians quickly equalising after some sloppy defending.  The remainder of the half was end-to-end as both teams tired looking for the winner.
Tomorrow we move from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantun.

27th August

Today we have visited Batu Caves just north of Kuala Lumpur which were discovered about 120 years ago.  The main cave is accessed by climbing 272 steps and is guarded by an enourmous golden statue of Lord Murugan.  At the top there are lots of cheeky macaque monkeys and a small Hindu shrine.  This afternoon we have a training session at the Malaysian FA in preparation for tomorrow's game against the national U17 team.
